【侨报记者林菁1月9日纽约报道】市议员陈倩雯9日在市政厅举行第三届连任就职典礼，社区超过300人前往庆贺，新当选的市议会议长约翰逊(Corey Johnson)也亲自前往贺喜，他对陈倩雯赞赏有加，指陈倩雯个子虽小，但声音和气魄很大，同时在为选区民众谋求福利方面坚韧不妥协，令人钦佩。

就职典礼在市政厅举行，嘉宾们坐满整个立法大厅，二楼也坐了不少人，华人社区众多侨团和机构的代表参加，他们都是陈倩雯竞选期间的支持者。

新科议长约翰逊、公益维护人詹乐霞、曼哈顿区长高步尔、前下东城市议员孟迪兹，以及与陈倩雯有良好合作关系的议会同仁也出席庆典。首先是舞狮表演，随后唱国歌，华裔法官翁家驹(Jeffrey Oing)主持了陈倩雯的就职宣誓仪式，陈倩雯的丈夫、弟弟及其先生陪伴在她身边，陈倩雯自豪而庄严地宣誓就职。

约翰逊对陈倩雯赞誉有加

约翰逊对陈倩雯很赞赏，他指出，陈倩雯在为选民代言时很执着、坚韧，但她同时很有人情味，每次碰面，其他议员会谈法案和政治，陈倩雯会关心地问：“你睡得好吗？”“有没多喝茶？”

约翰逊指出，陈倩雯在竞选中遭到很多不实攻击，有一次他和陈倩雯在街上做竞选宣传，有人对陈倩雯无礼地叫喊，约翰逊也呛声回敬，但陈倩雯说：别理他们。这个细节给约翰逊留下深刻印象，他指出，陈倩雯为人处事优雅、有尊严，在市议会受到大家敬重。

陈倩雯在致辞时感谢社区、办公室职员、竞选团队、家人对她的支持。她充满感慨地回顾了自己的奋斗历程：55年前，9岁的她随同家人从香港乘坐飞机抵达纽约机场，当时地上到处都是雪，亲戚带着他们去买雪靴，然后来到她在美国第一个家：茂比利路一幢公寓楼。

陈倩雯说，她看到的现实中的美国跟电影里的汽车别墅不一样，但她感到这里充满了机遇。她的父亲为了来美国寻找更好的生活，先去了南美洲哥伦比亚工作，然后来到纽约。他们家的移民申请，由于姓“Chin”和“Chan”拼写混淆，申请文件压了很久，拖了10年才批，她父亲一度没有移民身份。

竞选市议员的道路也是漫长艰辛，陈倩雯从1991年第一次参选，但失败了3次，第4次才竞选成功。她感谢先生对她的支持，是先生鼓励她辞职全力投入竞选，才最终实现了梦想。
