【侨报张苗10月13日南湾报道】10月13日，南湾库柏蒂诺社区居民继续为火灾民众捐献物资。当天上午10时左右，物资捐赠点、位于库柏蒂诺的YES SCHOOL便迎来一波又一波的爱心人士前来捐献物品。
不到一个小时，捐赠物已经堆满一地，其中包括衣物、卫生用品、婴幼儿用品、食物等。由于捐献的物品较多，堆放较为凌乱，不方便运输，一些民众便自发留在捐赠点帮忙整理、装车。记者看到，有爱心人士捐赠一只毛绒玩具，由于体积较大，较占运输空间。现场几位义工经商讨后决定留下玩具捐到灾民安置点，“也许那里会有受灾的小朋友需要玩具”。帮忙整理物品的华裔义工Kimmy告诉记者，从朋友圈里了解到捐赠信息，一早便带着物资驱车赶来。另外一名义工告诉记者，她是教会人士，来这里是为灾区尽一己之力。

记者在现场还见到两位印度裔义工，据悉这批捐赠物资将由她们负责运送到附近安置灾民的收容所。一位名叫Anita Krishnan的义工告诉记者，捐赠物资的活动从前几天已经陆续开始，湾区各地的灾民安置点也纷纷收到很多捐赠物资。“我们了解到，目前大部分安置点不再接受捐赠物品，他们更加需要资金安置灾民，需要捐款。”Anita Krishnan说。不过，当天她仍然联系到附近几个城市仍然需要物资捐赠的灾民安置点，例如帕洛阿图的老年服务中心（Palo Alto's Home Care Assistance）接受捐赠尿布、卫生用品、乳胶医疗手套、轮椅、手杖等年老体弱者所需的生活用品。Anita Krishnan说，今天她和其他义工将带着捐赠物，前往这些安置点。

据了解，这次南湾的为灾区捐赠活动由YES SCHOOL、United for a Better Community、American Chinese Women Culture Media Club联合组织，除组织捐赠外，还招募义工为灾民提供帮助。
而东湾华人也同样在有组织地为灾民捐赠物品。东湾的一个捐赠点在中餐馆四姐川湘，12日这里特别腾出一个仓库，供附近居民投放捐赠物品。据了解，捐赠最多的是毛毯、衣物、水和食品。为方便上班人士捐赠，华裔居民何明珠在微信群中提出，有意捐助者可联系她上门取物，代为投放到捐赠点。记者问到此事时，她只是淡然地说：“我今天休息没什么事儿，为救灾尽点绵薄之力。”
据悉，目前很多灾民安置点已经不再需要物品捐赠，有捐赠意愿者可直接联系红十字会（Red Cross）为灾区捐款。
