在美国申请英国签证攻略

下礼拜就要去英国啦~  终于能坐上伦敦眼，看一眼大笨钟，还能去西敏寺转一圈，真的好开心~


当初准备申请的时候搜遍了各大网站也没有详细的攻略，所以让我来写一篇方便后人吧~


其实比起美国签证来说，这个真的很简单，而且据说在美国签英国一般不会拒签，所以不用太担心啦~



对了，先介绍一下背景：楼主是F1签证，无校内外工作，无SSN，无驾照的三无人士~


首先，登录英国签证申请网站，注册一个账号，然后在网站上填写申请表格（填过DS160后就觉得这个无压力啦~）


下面说几点填写表格需要注意的事项和可能有疑惑的问题


这个和DS160一样，很长，不需要一次性填完，可以边填边保存，下次继续填


英国填写日期的方式与美国和中国都不一样，他们是日/月/年，注意别填错啦~


一般去旅游都是General Visitor Visa，签证有效期6个月，可以在出发前3个月申请，查看所有签证类型和介绍可以点这个网站


护照签发机关ISSUING AUTHORITY，填EXIT ENTRY ADMIN.就可以啦，写太长也填不下


因为我是要去伦敦找朋友在朋友家住的，所以在住宿费那边我填了0


最后有个问题，IS THERE ANY OTHER INFORMATION YOU WISH TO BECONSIDERED AS PART OF YOUR APPLICATION? 我觉得没啥可说的，就什么也没填，事实证明，不填也没事~




填好申请表后付钱，我付了142刀申请费+4.26刀海外交易转换费（这是2014年10月的数据，之后可能会更便宜或者更贵。我是用boa的信用卡付款的，转换费是银行自动charge的，估计是英镑转美金的钱）


付好钱之后就可以选择预约去Application Support Center的时间（这个地方有很多，大部分城市都有，选离你最近的就好啦），全部完成以后会出来一个Visa Application Number，一定要保存这个号码以防你要修改申请表上的内容，不过修改一定次数后就不能再改了


返回申请网站首页，点“View Appointment”，然后“Print Appointment Details”，注意不是打印确认邮件，是打印这个哦，切记！


再返回申请网站首页，点“Print Application”，打印出来以后在第二页和最后一页要求的地方签名并写上日期



到了预约的那一天，带着打印出来的“Appointment Confirmation”和护照，去你当时选的Application Support Center取指纹和拍照吧~（这个照片不会用作你签证的照片，放心~）


弄好以后，会有人在你的Appointment Confirmation上面签名和盖章，表示你已经取过指纹了，所以别弄丢了


一旦取好指纹后，你必须在两周内把所有签证的材料寄出




下面说一下英国签证所需材料的清单：


1，护照原件和复印件（护照有效期要至少6个月，复印只需有照片的首页就可以了，如果有旧护照也需要复印）


2，I94（在这个网站上填好资料以后打印出最近入境的那一次）


3，照片2张（白底彩色照片，尺寸是45mm*35mm，照片具体要求看这里。申请的网站上有些地方写需要1张有些写需要2张，以防万一我就寄了2张过去，其中1张贴在申请表上，另外1张和其他资料放在一起）


4，英国签证申请表（之前打印出来的，别忘了签名和写日期）


5，Biometric Receipt（就是之前那张取好指纹后有人签名和盖章的Appointment Confirmation）


6，I-20原件和复印件（三页都要复印，记得在复印件第一页最顶上写个“COPY”）


7，学校的在校证明信（去International Student Office问问，我们学校是填一张申请表，过一礼拜再去拿就可以了）


8，往返机票（他们建议不要预定不能退款的机票，以免签证不通过损失机票钱，我比较屌丝，老早就付钱买好了，怕机票涨价）


9，财产证明（需要近6个月的，这个要到银行办理一个Bank Letter，因为Bank Statement 不可以当作签证资料，最好提前一周申请，BOA是直接寄信到我家的）


10，在英国的住宿信息（如果是住酒店需要打印出预约信息，可以在booking之类的网站定一些可以免费取消的酒店。因为我是住朋友家的，所以我让她把她租房子的合约扫描给我，然后我打印出来了）


11，邀请函和英国朋友的信息（这个不是必须的，只是我觉得有的话会好一些所以就一起寄过去了。当时让朋友扫描了她的护照首页，签证卡正反面和学校入学通知书，邀请函是我在网上找的模板，然后全部打印出来了）


12，预付费信封（这个是我去USPS寄材料的时候顺便一起买了放在一叠材料里面一起寄过去的）



因为寄的是护照，我怕丢了，所以我寄的是需要收件人签名的挂号信，USPS显示11月3号寄到，可是我6号才收到领事馆的邮件说收到我的包裹了，还说2014年11月需要13个工作日才能签出，事实证明果真如此，22号再次收到领事馆的邮件说签证已经签好了。


所以，大家记得至少提前一个月申请以免耽误出行啊~


收到包裹后，只有I20和带着英国签证的护照原件回来了~




最后放一张网上找的签证照片~ （我太懒了，码了一堆字，不想再拍照了。。。）
