美国五大湖区及东北部迎接严寒冰雪

国家气象局表示，冬季严寒将笼罩绝大部分的中部平原，包括「明尼苏达」，同时，也将向「威斯康星」「依利诺」及「印地安纳州」一路向东推进。
「芝加哥」（当地时间）週日已有3到5吋的降雪，当地「欧哈尔」机场已宣布取消了1200架次航班。「密西根州」降雪更大，多达 10吋，迫使一架载有70名乘客的「达美」客机降落後冲到草地上，好在所有人员安全无伤。
气象人员表示，未来几天，中西部及东北部将迎接冷雨及冰雪，因此气温会比平常降低摄氏8到15度，当局呼吁民众若非必要，尽量待家中，而汽车驾驶在路上也要小心谨慎。

寒潮来袭全美多地发布预警 芝加哥逾千航班被取消
12月12日电 据美国中文网11日报道，美国北部平原和中西部地区遭混杂冰雪的暴风雨袭击，西北部多个州在一夜间变成了银色世界。
据报道，由于恶劣天气，芝加哥机场超过1200次航班被取消。不少高速路段也暂时关闭。
受到这股寒流影响，五大湖区域和东北部不少地区都迎来大雪。
据美国国家气象中心消息，芝加哥降雪量达到了8英寸(约合20厘米)，降雪量有可能最高达到12英寸(约合30厘米)。目前当地已经启动冬季风暴观测。
芝加哥市长也提醒民众，一定要小心严寒天气，注意保暖防寒。
11日，芝加哥气温已经下降到零下4摄氏度度以下，预计12日会有所回升，但夜间温度已经低至冰点，最低可达零下8摄氏度。
纽约市预计12日下午迎来降雪，晚间转为降雨。目前市卫生局已经做好准备，应对降雪。气象预报人员表示，新泽西北部部分地区可能最多迎来5英寸(约合12.7厘米)降雪，将令出行变得困难。
