圣德力小学设分校：预期明年八月开学

【芝加哥侨学网报道】圣德力小学（St. Therese School）日前举办家长会，校长卡瓦隆正式宣布圣德力小学将增设分校的消息，紧邻南华埠的圣德力分校，预期将在明年8月投入使用。圣德力分校的筹建资金约为450万，该校将发起“小学校，大梦想”系列筹款活动。


据圣德力小学校董黎斌雄介绍，圣德力分校将设在位于17街夹Halsted 街附近的大楼，该大楼为天主教会（Providence of God）所有，校舍修缮、教学设施等筹备工程总预算约为450万美元，天主教会将提供一半的资金，圣德力小学则计划通过筹款补足余额。该分校今后的日常运作资金，将由圣德力小学负责。

校长卡瓦隆（PhyllisCavallone）表示，筹建中的圣德力分校，将包括宽敞的教室，宽大的体育馆，儿童玩乐区域，艺术课室，图书馆等等。圣德力分校建成后拟将用作学龄前教育，并每年随着孩子们的长大增加年级。圣德力小学将发起系列筹款活动，包括寻求学生家长、社会贤达、公司企业的捐助。在具体筹款构想方面，圣德力分校可以考虑以捐赠人的姓名来命名教学设施，比如体育馆，大楼名称等。


位于芝加哥中国城中心区域的圣德力小学，80%以上的学生为华裔，该校因教学质量优秀，广受华裔家长欢迎，目前等候进入该校的学生名单人数（waiting list）高达400多人。为满足社区对高质量教育的需求，该校决定增设分校，卡万隆校长呼吁华裔社区积极支持圣德力小学“小学校，大梦想”的筹款行动。


圣德力小学拥有70多年历史，提供从学前班到8八年级的私立教育，该校2006年曾获入选《芝加哥杂志》“芝加哥地区最佳私立小学前25强” ，2011年则以优异的学生平均成绩被联邦教育部评为“蓝丝带学校”（2011 National Blue Ribbon School）。圣德力小学在接受“大肩膀基金会”（Big Shoulders Fund）资助的天主教学校中，是唯一一所获得“蓝丝带学校”荣誉的学校。该校今年的毕业班，有多人考入著名的WhitneyYang，PaytonCollege Prep, Lake View High School 等著名高中。有关圣德力小学更多详情，可上网 www.sttheresechicago.org 。
