譬如，1981年果断出动战斗机摧毁伊拉克境内核反应堆这一骇人举动。6月7号，8架F16战机携带Mk 84 2000磅级炸弹执行轰炸任务，6架F15A担任护航，2架双座版F15B负责无线电通讯中继站，这16架战机分三批出动，以仅高于地面数十米的超低空飞行，越过约旦边境、穿过红海、抛下副油箱扔在沙特阿拉伯沙漠里、最终抵达伊拉克领空，投下16枚Mk 84 炸弹，成功摧毁伊拉克奥斯拉克核反应堆。

不得不说，但凡有一个环节出错，那就是满盘皆输悲剧。不过，收益和风险总是成正比的，以色列这一炸加上五次中东战争大获全胜，换来了犹太人在应许之地耶路撒冷生根发芽并站得住脚国际地位。

到了2007年，以色列飞行员驾驶7架F15战机深入叙利亚腹地，摧毁叙利亚SA15防空系统，18分钟搜索到叙境内核设施，再一通狂轰乱炸，那就轻车熟路多了。

问题是，弹丸之地究竟是如何成为世界上动手最快的国家的？答案不止是以色列有美国大腿可抱如此简单。别忘了，建国初期，以色列国小民少，只能生产部分轻武器，国防还得靠进口大炮、机枪……不到70年时间后，以色列却成为世界上第8个可发射卫星的国家、继法俄美之后世界上第4个研制成功制导空空导弹的国家。这一切的背后，都离不开以色列国防工业的崛起与壮大。
