拥有一个毛孩子最常见的途径是救助站领养、在网上找狗舍、猫舍预定，也有少部分线下的宠物店卖毛孩子，但是挑选的范围很小。

01、选择正规狗舍、猫舍

AKC是一个非常大的平台，上面注册的犬舍基本上都是靠谱的。
输入犬种，邮编，就能搜到。那些热门的犬种，需要提前半年至一年预订。
负责的犬舍都是有计划的，一年最多两窝，在计划前都会做好基因检测，确保狗狗的健康。
美国有三大龙头犬舍Dickendall、Tabathas、Wiscoy犬舍。


CFA官网，上面有很多的猫舍。可以在上面查询你所在州的猫舍。了解猫舍的繁育次数，以及预订人数。在繁育计划里的猫中预定自己喜欢的猫，等待小猫儿的诞生
02、猫狗的平均价格
*每一家猫舍、犬舍的价格都不同，以下宠物价格仅供参考。


拉布拉多：赛级幼犬价格在3000－10000美元之间，宠物级幼犬价格在500－1500美元之间
哈士奇：价格在600-2500美元之间。
金毛：平均$1000-$2000美元
英短：平均$1200-$2300美元
美短：平均600至1200美元
布偶猫：平均$1200-$2300美元


领养的流程


01、选择救助机构
如果决定领养一只毛孩子，在网络搜索pet adoption或者相关词汇会出现很多的收养中心.进入任意一家收养机构官网看有没有喜欢的毛孩子。并亲自去现场了解想要领养的毛孩子的信息。

02、了解情况
亲自去领养中心参观决定完属于自己的毛孩后，工作人员会带着你去填表，表格上是一些对你的评估项。例如你是否是第一次养宠物，每年会为宠物花费多少等问题。填完信息后会有人找你谈话，首先会介绍毛孩子的基本情况，然后会了解你的情况，例如居住情况，工作情况等。
03、准备宠物用品

毛孩子的食盆

猫砂盆 猫砂/狗尿垫

洗漱用品

梳子、指甲剪
牵引绳、玩具、猫爬架
猫粮/狗粮、药品、零食
猫包/狗包
如果有充足的资金也可以给自家毛孩子买衣服
04、办手续
需要带护照
房屋相关证件（租凭合同、房主同意养宠证明等）
如果有室友要带上室友
如果家里有其他宠物，要带上相关的资料
05、付费
填完表格了解完情况后就可以办理手续付领养费啦!一般来说，狗狗比猫咪贵一些。领养费一般在$70-$300不等，猫咪在$50-$150。
有些shelter会有一个foster（临时收养）两周的时间，如果两周内觉得不合适，可以还给shelter。shelter也会退给你收养费。
06、带毛孩子回家

大部分的领养机构都会在毛孩子们被领养走的时候打第一针疫苗，这个时候需要确认好下一次的疫苗时间。
如果在领养的时候没有打疫苗，需要我们带主子去医院打疫苗。
03、植入芯片
芯片中带有全球动物唯一识别身份码，将作为宠物的电子身份证伴随其一生，芯片可储存宠物的基本信息。通过该号码的识别
和后台数据库的协同管理，可以对动物的出生、饲养、检疫、兽药、营养等信息进行写入和读取，从而实现对宠物系谱、身份、主人及其一生繁殖、健康等。


种植芯片(Microchip)在美国的任何一家医院都能做，一般20刀左右，是用一个小针把芯片植入狗狗后颈部的皮肤里。
