在1年多前的2017年10月1日，全球着名的赌城美国拉斯维加斯发生了一起极为血腥的惨案，甚至可以用屠杀来形容。

当时，一名枪手在当地的一家酒店高层，用机枪疯狂扫射楼下举行派对的人群，导致58人死亡，近千人受伤。这一惨烈的伤亡，也令此案成为了美国自911恐怖袭击以来死亡人数最多的一次大规模谋杀案，更是美国现代历史中最严重的一起枪击案。因此，此案的凶手斯蒂芬.帕多克（StephenPaddock）为什么要干出这么灭绝人性的恶行，也成为了当时全球媒体关注的焦点。

而在2年后的今天，美国FBI就这一人们迫切想知道的问题，给出了出人意料的答复…..

“没有动机”。

是的，根据美国国家公共广播网（NPR）的报道，在经过1年多的调查，FBI于今天（美国时间1月29日）宣布，震惊世界的美国拉斯维加斯2017枪击案已结束调查，但FBI通过详细的分析发现凶手“并不存在一个清晰的作案动机”。

这家美国媒体报道说，虽然人们都想知道他为什么要犯下如此罪行，FBI在一份三页纸的案情概要中却表示：64岁的凶手斯蒂芬.帕多克这一生从未对外人透露过自己的想法，这一情况也一直延续到了他决定发起这场大规模谋杀的那一刻。他自己也在这场屠杀中饮弹自尽。

因此，FBI认定这名杀害了58人并令近千人受伤的凶手，并不是被任何宗教、社会或政治目的所驱使作案，他也没有任何共犯。

不过FBI也表示这种情况也并不十分罕见，称美国其他大规模凶杀案中也存在这种动机并不明确的凶手，他们的动机可能是被多种纠缠在一起的复杂原因最终驱动的。

FBI还在其报告中指出，斯蒂芬.帕多克的身体和精神健康其实一直都在恶化，所以他一直都在谋划一种终结自己生命的方式。

报告还特别提到他的父亲，一个银行抢劫犯和逃犯，可能也对他这一残忍的行径产生了某种“激励”，因为他的父亲曾经就通过隐藏自己的犯罪身份和心理疾病史，在1968年时成为了FBI十名头号通缉犯中的一员。

而斯蒂芬.帕多克也在实施这起凶案前进行了隐蔽且长期的谋划。此前美国媒体的报道显示，这名对外身份为退休的邮局员工、会计师和房地产投资商的男子，不仅花了很长时间去准备行凶用的枪支武器，还对警方的战术乃至对作案地点进行了分析和考察。

最后，美国国家公共广播网采访的一名遇害者的家属表示，他们其实也不想知道这个凶手到底安的什么心，反而更希望这个凶残的动机和这个凶手一起被埋入坟墓。

在这位家属看来，这样才能令生者免于被此案继续折磨心灵。
