RMBS evaluator

The primary responsibility of this position will be to proactively manage evaluations, models, client challenges and relationships within the Structured Securities Group. The senior evaluator must posses a superior knowledge of the mortgage related markets with specific emphasis on Prime, Alt-A, and Option ARM collateral. The ideal candidate must understand the deal structure and posses the knowledge to stress deals by generating scenarios to perform a multi-path cash flow analysis of the securities.

After performing this analysis, the candidate should be able to create an appropriate set of prepayment, defaults and delinquency vectors, along with a yield, to derive a current value.

He or she must also have very strong communication and analytical skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office, as well as being detail orientated. The candidate must possess the ability to respond to time-critical customer inquiries via e-mail, or telephone. The flexibility to adapt to changing requirements in the evaluation group is also essential. In addition, the evaluator will be responsible for monitoring news items and market conditions for their specific sector, as well as, obtaining market information from contacts. Success in this position requires that a close and trusting professional relationship be built with market participants, clients, and customer service.

Additionally, success will be dependent on the evaluator’s ability to maintain a well organized and clearly documented overview of the evaluation process in accordance with the policies and procedures utilized within the Structured Evaluations Group.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of five to seven years experience in the RMBS. Superior knowledge of Fixed Income Markets. Working knowledge of IntexNet/Intex Desktop Ability to facilitate superior market participant relationships. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under stringent time constraints, multi-task and prioritize workload.

Market knowledge and awareness. Independent self starter, able to sustain productivity. Team player with the willingness to take direction from management. Willingness to work the hours necessary to achieve daily objectives. PC literate, knowledgeable in Windows, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
