波士顿大学Boston University 名校BU申诉及复学指南

波士顿大学（Boston University，BU/Boston U）是一所位于美国马萨诸塞州波士顿的著名私立研究型大学。该校主校区位于波士顿查尔士河河畔的现址。该校于波士顿市区南边的长木医学区设有医学院校区。波士顿大学拥有大约3800多名学术性教职工和33000多名在校学生，同时也是波士顿最大的大学。学校通过所属的18个学院授予学士学位，硕士学位，博士学位以及医学，牙科，商科和法学学位。2018年U.S. News全美大学排名第37。

BU的成绩要求
对成绩的要求有：总GPA达到2.0丶每学期完成至少12学分丶学期GPA至少2.0。学分不包括体育和舞蹈，从其他学校转入的学分不计入GPA。未满足任一上述条件的学生，则进入留校察看（probation）。下个学期如果仍未解除留校察看状态，则由学院做出决定：可能继续留校察看丶停学（suspension）或开除（dismissal，永久不能回到BU）。留校察看的学生，如果夏季有在BU修读课程，可以在夏季后申请校方重新审核学术状态。

停学或开除的决定由各学院审核做出；一般情况下，如果学生连续两个学期留校察看，则至少收到停学处分。停学时长的决定由学院做出。停学期满后，学生需要与advisor见面，讨论复学事宜。复学后，自动进入留校察看状态。如果学生被停学或者开除，可以向学院申诉。

在未经教授允许情况下把自己的作业给同学看，在网上复制内容放进自己论文时不注明来源，在补考前用正考的试卷复习，假装生病以逃避按时进行作业或考试，等等，都属于违反BU学术诚信条例的行为。

教授如果发现学术不诚信行为，一般情况下先与学生约谈，并记录学生的回复，然后填表上报学校。如果此前该学生没有过学术不诚信行为，教授可以要求校方给予成绩处分。校方如果批准，则询问学生是否接受处分。如果学生此前有过学术不诚信行为，或者校方不批准，或者学生不接受该处分，则校方将举行听证会。

如果学生认为教授在未经此流程的情况下，认定自己有学术不诚信行为并据此给予了低分，应当立即上报校方。

在听证会举行的至少12天前，学生将收到听证会通知。在双方同意的情况下，听证会日期也可以提前或推后。学生可以带相关证人以及一名顾问出席听证会。学生希望校方审核的书面陈述及材料，应当至少在听证会之前7天提交。听证会由五名成员组成，以多数投票表决来做出决定。
听证会可能做出的处分决定有：警告丶留校察看丶停学（一般为1~3个学期）丶永久开除。

学生可以获取听证会的所有材料以及录音。如果对决定有异议，学生应当在收到决定后14天内提交书面申诉。院长对申诉做出的决定，如果学生有异议的，可以向教务长申诉。该决定为最终决定，除非处分是撤销学位证书的情况下，学生可以继续向校长申诉，校长做出最终决定。
